Greiðsluveitan is a private limited company owned by the Central Bank of Iceland. The mission of Greiðsluveitan is to run core payment systems and other systems needed by banks and financial institutions.
Greiðsluveitan offers the following services:
- Ark: Electronic document storage for various banking data such as payment slips, bills, temporary passwords and statements.
- SWIFT gateway: Access to the SWIFT network
Greiðsluveitan has been recognized by Creditinfo as one of the Strongest companies in Iceland. Only about 2% of companies in Iceland fulfil the strict criteria about financial strength and stability.
